We have developed a novel Safety Phlebotomy Holder, Ezederm™, which improves the ease and precision of phlebotomy by features increasing the stability of the holder and allowing a pen like grip which offers precise control over the needle in venous access. Thirdly in collaboration with the Nottingham Trent University we are developing a self retracting cannula which senses the moment of entry into the blood vessel and withdraws the inner needle. This helps the practitioner in better placing the cannula within the vein and removes the inadvertent possibility of going through the vein completely.
